cal uhf or nay aye!

Monday Morning is rough. But a Monday morning after vacation is...just pure brutal. I thought we adults took it rough coming back from a vacation, but Conner has been a wild soul since we got home. First sitting in the rocks, throwing them in the air similar to how he threw sand at the beach in the air just yesterday afternoon. That sight almost makes me sad. Sad enough to drive back to Cali for the 23 hours I have left before work...but than my analytical side of the brain starts working..and I come to my senses. So we instead opt out for a hot bath, full of bath toys and bubbles galore and big pick up trucks that Conner had to have in there.. leaving us no room to move...but hey, the more the merrier I say. In the tub included ;)

Santa Monica, California. You treated us so so good this Easter/Mama's Bday Weekend! Recently we moved into a new house and are having my mom rent out a bedroom. Her birthday was coming up so we decided on a last minute get-a-way trip to California. And because we are saving money, we decided to keep it simple and as cheap as possible, which left us at the Beach for nearly 3 days. It was a stress-free awesome weekend away.

Hey Jeff- remember when people smiled in pictures?

ya..me neither.....

DONUTS. I'm not sure where the recent obsession came from, but donuts have been my favorite lately. Of course I can't eat them whenever I want because I'd blow up like a balloon, but I think vacation calls for some reconsidering. We stopped at the smallest, family-owned donut shop, similar to what we have here in Henderson, called Family Donuts. Who knew donuts could make such great beach treats? mmm.

Conner loves to mess with his daddi-o! I think it's hilarious!! If I'm sleeping, Conner will usually wake me up with a kiss and by laying on me quietly just wiggling his toes and legs. But if Jeff is sleeping, Conner has no mercy, and will totally place his butt on his face if he finds the need too.

Side note- Have you guys ever seen water painting like this? Santa Monica beach has the artists all over the place and they are beautiful pieces. They are so fun to look at, but even more fun to watch him paint. I'd highly recommend paying the $1 a letter for this if you are in the area. :) by the way, it says CONNER incase the picture makes it hard to read.

My beautiful mama ;) She turned 45! Where has time gone? My mama has always been a warrior to me, like a reaal life hero. She is strong beyond belief, and God has taught her soooo, soooo many lessons already in her short time here. She's always embraced such a kind, caring heart while dealing with some of the most life-altering difficult situations. I admire her so much. She makes a great best friend too. lovez you, mama! xo.

Easter Sunday-

Easter Sunday we traded mouthfuls of chexmix and chocolate bunnies for sand. I think I was most nervous not to give Conner the Easter egg hunt I was so excited too, but the beach ended up being way better than I would've guessed and didn't make me feel guilty for skipping Church and not being with friends and family one bit. I wish it could be a annual family tradition to spend Easter at the beach (after Church, of course), but I'm not sure if I could deal making Easter baskets that will last in the sand and sun for too long. Spring time brings beautiful weather so although the water was cold, laying on the beach; you were surrounded by sunshine and a light breeze. There were so many nice people on the beach on Easter morning, and the Pier was full of live entertainment.  I love spending Easter with friends, family and celebrating the fact that He is Risen on this wonderful day, and this vacation was so needed and so appreciated. Id' say it goes down in my top #5 best vacations of all time.

the only thing I found a little aggravating was the people who are selling stuff on the beach. No, I don't get annoyed because they are selling stuff, but only that their are over 100's of them in one area and they ask you repetitively, with no shame at all. After turning down one person, give me 30 seconds and I would already be saying no, thank you very much though!  to another. God really had me practicing my patience on that day, ha ha.

and thank you to my best friend for living this beautiful life with me, making crazy memories and teaching a little mini-me how to live a righteous life, and become a good person while we try and figure out our self. I love you, Jeffy! :) We are so lucky!
